Apple & Pear Layered Oat Cake

 
 

A reminder that oats are not bad for you and can be used in so many ways to create delicious, nourishing breakfast and snack ideas such as this apple and pear oat cake.

Ingredients


1 small-medium apple, finely sliced

1 small-medium pear, finely sliced

180g oats

40g whole meal flour

2 tbsp greek yoghurt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp baking powder

1-2 tbsp honey/maple syrup

375mL milk of choice

40g shaved almonds

To serve

Greek yoghurt


Method


1.
Preheat oven to 180 degrees

In a greased oven safe container/baking tray, combine the oats, flour, spices, baking powder,

maple, and milk, mixing until combined.

3.
Add the finely sliced apple and pear and press these down until completely covered by the

mixture. Top with sliced almonds.

4.
Place in the oven and cook for about 40-45 minutes, or until golden and firm to touch.

5.
Serve warm or cold with a dollop of yoghurt.
