Chocolate Orange Porridge

 
 

This breakfast may look and taste indulgent, but it’s actually a very nutritious and delicious start to the day. Chocolate orange is one of my favourite combos so I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

Ingredients


50g of porridge oats

350ml of milk of choice 

1 tbsp of cacao powder 

Zest of 1 orange

1 tbsp of honey or maple syrup

1 tsp of orange extract or vanilla extract

1 tbsp of almond butter  

Handful of pomegranate seeds

Handful of cacao nibs 

Fresh orange segments


Method


1.
Put 50g porridge oats in a saucepan, pour in 350ml milk or water and sprinkle cacao powders add optional orange extract.

2.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring from time to time and watching carefully that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

3.
To serve, pour into a bowl, add orange segments, almond butter, pomegranate seeds and cacao nibs.
